If you’re curious about the current and next Genshin Impact banner, you’ve come to the right place. Each character event wish banner lasts around three weeks and gives you a higher chance to receive specific five-star and four-star characters. There’s also a weapon event wish banner called Epitome Invocation that gives you the chance to roll for some extremely powerful four and five-star weapons.

There are generally four character banners per Genshin Impact update, with two running concurrently in the first phase, and two running concurrently in the second phase, so you’re rarely short on opportunities to snag your next main!

What’s the current Genshin Impact banner?
The current Genshin Impact banners feature the new five-star character Xilonen alongside a rerun of Chiori, and run from Wednesday, October 9 until Tuesday, October 29.
Xilonen is a five-star geo sword wielder from Natlan with a unique kit that sees her rollerblading around the world, high-kicking any enemies in her path. She performs best as a support or sub-DPS, providing heaps of res shred with her skill, and can even offer an on-demand heal with her elemental burst. However, her healing is only single-target unless you manage to get all of her constellations, and she requires at least two non-geo characters on her team in order to activate her rest shred buffs and on-field elemental burst healing.
Chiori is another five-star geo sword wielder, best suited to a sub-DPS role. Her skill sees her summon a little pal who, luckily, isn’t classed as a geo construct, meaning she provides consistent off-field geo damage without the need for a trigger. However, unless you have her first constellation, she relies on having another geo construct character on her team to reach her full potential.

The next Genshin Impact banners feature reruns of Nahida and Hu Tao, and run from Tuesday, October 29 until Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
Nahida is the Dendro Archon of Sumeru, with a top-notch support kit that allows her to slot into practically any dendro team, boosting dendro application and elemental mastery along the way.
On the other hand, Hu Tao is a powerful polearm user who can dish out heaps of on-field single-target damage in vape teams – and is also the resident spooky gal, perfect for the Halloween banner!

Upcoming Genshin Impact banner speculation
Outside of the current and next Genshin Impact banner, we also have some predictions for future banners.
Leaks suggest that Genshin Impact’s Mavuika and Genshin Impact’s Citlali will appear on the Genshin Impact 5.3 banners. Beyond that, we predict that Genshin Impact’s Iansan and Ororon’s friend Genshin Impact’s Ifa will come further down the line during the version 5 updates.
Beyond that, there are a handful of characters that we know about – either through meeting them in-game or seeing them in promotional material – but don’t have release dates yet.
