What’s the best Imbibitor Lunae build?
Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae is a five-star imaginary element character who treads the path of the Destruction. He’s a powerful DPS who can dish out an outstanding amount of damage in both single- and multi-target battles, making him a brilliant fit for a wide range of teams and combat scenarios.

Imbibitor Lunae’s best light cone is Brighter Than the Sun. His best relic set is Musketeer of Wild Wheat, and his best planar ornament set is Rutilent Arena. In terms of relic stats and sub-stats, you should aim to boost his speed, crit rate and damage, and attack%.
When leveling up Imbibitor Lunae’s skills, you should prioritize his basic attack, and raise his skill, ultimate, and talent equally, as they’re all important parts of his kit. His most important trace is Jolt Anew (A6), followed by Star Veil (A2), then Aqua Reign (A4).

How to use Honkai Star Rail’s Imbibitor Lunae
Imbibitor Lunae is a powerful DPS. He excels in both single-target and multi-target scenarios, his upfront damage is extremely impressive, and he also deals a significant amount of toughness damage, meaning he can break through enemy defenses with ease. He also has his own damage and crit buffs, which makes him a very self-sufficient damage dealer.
Imbibitor Lunae’s main strength is that he can use his skill to enhance his normal attack up to three times per turn, and he can generate his own faux skill points called ‘squama sacrosancta’.
Essentially, if Imbibitor Lunae has no squama sacrosancta, then he uses one skill point each time you hit enhance, and you can enhance his normal attack up to three times. This makes it quite costly to unleash a fully enhanced attack, and requires a lot of careful gameplay and foresight in order to avoid running out of skill points too quickly.
Luckily, if you use his technique before entering battle you gain one squama sacrosancta, and if you use his ultimate in battle you gain two squama sacrosancta.
Imbibitor Lunae can have a maximum three squama sacrosancta at a time. If you enhance while he possesses squama sacrosancta stacks, you use one of those stacks instead of a skill point.
Therefore we recommend aiming to use his technique before battle wherever possible, and that you use his ultimate as often as you can in order to accrue those squama sacrosancta, so you can enhance his normal attack while still saving skill points for your other characters.
Overall, once you’ve gotten used to this mechanic, Imbibitor Lunae is a very valuable and self-sufficient unit. But, of course, a little extra buffing can always help. For example, the brilliant Honkai Star Rail’s Bronya can give him a very welcome boost to both his attack, crit, and damage, while also providing him with extra turns.
Alternatively, teaming him up with Honkai Star Rail’s Luocha and Honkai Star Rail’s Yukong, with the latter using the Planetary Rendezvous light cone, you can build a very strong imaginary team that boosts Imbibitor Lunae’s attack and therefore makes his enhanced normal attacks even stronger.
What is the best light cone for Imbibitor Lunae?
Imbibitor Lunae’s best light cone is his signature five-star, Brighter Than the Sun. At base, it offers a nice boost to his crit rate, while also giving him a boost to his attack and energy regen whenever he uses his basic attack. However, it’s a limited five-star light cone that you can only pull on the banner that runs alongside him, so it can be a bit tricky to snag.
The second-best option for Imbibitor Lunae is the five-star light cone On the Fall of an Aeon. You can purchase this one from Herta’s Store, which also makes it a little less tricky to get – though you do have to save up quite a bit if you want to get it to S5. This increases his attack% buff, and he
