What’s the best Honkai Star Rail Tingyun build?

Tingyun is a four-star lighting character who treads the path of the Harmony. Her kit revolves around buffing her allies, meaning she’s best suited to a support role where she can boost your main damage dealer’s performance.

Tingyun’s best light cone is Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds, and her best relic set is Band of Sizzling Thunder. Her best planar ornament set is Space Sealing Station. When building Tingyun, we recommend boosting her attack, crit, energy regen, and break effect.

In terms of her attacks, you should level up her skill first, then her ultimate, then her talent, then her basic attack. And, when it comes to her traces, you should level up Jubilant Passage (A6) first, then Nourished Joviality (A2), then Knell Subdual (A4).

How to use Tingyun

Tingyun is an incredibly valuable support, offering her allies powerful buffs to attack, damage, and even raw multipliers. However, all of her buffs are single-target only, meaning she performs best in hypercarry teams where she can focus all of her efforts on one powerful DPS.

Widely considered the best four-star support in the game, Tingyun’s skill applies the benediction buff to one ally, boosting their attack by up to 50%. It also allows the buffed ally to deal additional lightning damage equal to 40% of their attack, essentially providing a raw damage multiplier to their attacks.

The benediction buff lasts for three turns, making it especially valuable for Honkai Star Rail Seele’s Resurgence ability, characters with follow-up attacks, and pretty much any character’s ultimates, as none of these impact the buff’s duration.

Tingyun’s ultimate is also super valuable, offering a hefty 50 energy to the target ally while increasing their damage by up to 50% for two turns. This makes her a blessing to any ultimate-reliant DPS, but is also welcome to just about any ally.

With all this in mind, the best way to use Tingyun is as a support in a hypercarry team. Pair her up with a powerful main DPS, then have her apply her skill to them every three turns. Use her ultimate to boost their energy and attack, then watch them tear straight through the opposition!

What’s the best light cone for Tingyun?

Tingyun has her own light cone called Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds, which compliments her kit perfectly. Therefore, we recommend you use that with her if you manage to pull it.

If you’re looking for an alternate, make sure it aligns with the path of The Harmony. The Battle Isn’t Over and Chorus are good options.

Carve the Moon, Weave the CloudsRandomly applies one of the following effects at the start of the battle and whenever Tingyun takes action:
  • Increases all allies’ attack
  • Increases all allies’ crit damage
  • Increases all allies’ energy regeneration
The effect cannot be identical to the last effect applied and replaces the previous effect. The applied effect expires when Tingyun falls in battle. Effects of the same type cannot stack.
