Kirara’s best weapon is the Key of Khaj-Nisut and her best shielding artifact set is two pieces of Tenacity of the Milelith and two pieces of Vourukasha’s Glow. You can also use a full set of Instructor for a team-wide elemental mastery buff. As Kirara’s shielding scales based on her max HP, you should aim to equip her with pieces that offer HP%, HP, and energy recharge stats.
When leveling up Kirara’s talents, we recommend prioritizing her elemental skill first, followed by her elemental burst. Regardless of what role you play her in, Kirara’s normal attacks deal very little damage and are not an important part of her kit, so you don’t need to level those up unless you really want to.
How do I use Kirara?
Genshin’s Kirara is a four-star dendro sword user and an extremely useful shield support. Her elemental skill has massive damage absorption potential, particularly for dendro damage, that scales based on her max HP.
As such, the most important part of Kirara’s kit is her elemental skill, though her elemental burst is also valuable, especially as it has the potential to trigger the four-piece passive for the Noblesse Oblige artifact set.
Both Kirara’s elemental burst and skill deal AoE dendro damage, and her skill provides a shield for her and her teammates that has incredible damage absorption potential. As mentioned above, her normal attack is negligible, so you don’t need to bother using them, even in on-field roles.
Kirara’s main role is as an off-field support, using the shield from her skill to increase the survivability of her teammates. In this role, while you can use the tap version of her elemental skill, we generally recommend doing the ‘short hold’ method where you briefly hold the skill button before tapping it again to cancel the Urgent Neko Parcel state.
What are the best Kirara weapons?
Key of Khaj-Nisut is the best five-star sword for Kirara. It increases her max HP, which buffs her shield’s damage absorption and also has the chance to increase the team’s elemental mastery if you use her skill frequently enough.
Generally, the most recommended four-star weapon for Kirara is Favonius Sword, as it helps both her and her team with energy regeneration, and is a very affordable option that’s quite easy to build. The only setback is that it requires Kirara to land crit hits in order to activate its passive, so you need to build her with some crit rate if you go with this option.
Sapwood Blade seems like a particularly good budget pick as you can forge it and it synergizes well with dendro reaction teams.

What are the best Kirara artifacts?
Based on the artifact sets we currently have in the game, we’ve made some suggestions below about which ones work with Kirara’s kit. If you want to lean fully into her shielding capabilities, a combination of Tenacity of the Milelith and Vourukasha’s Glow buffs Kirara’s HP and therefore her shield strength.
