The best Albedo build focuses on increasing his defense, so his best weapon is the Uraku Misugiri. His best artifacts are a full set of Husk of Opulent Dreams with increased defense, geo damage bonus, and crit stats.
Albedo has a very unique kit and scaling, so getting to grips with his mechanics can take some practice. However, if you’re willing to do a little on-field research, you’ll soon see his benefits.
When leveling up Albedo’s talents, we recommend prioritizing his elemental skill, followed by his elemental burst, and leaving his normal attack until last. He also benefits greatly from character levels, and he sees around a 10% damage increase when you level him from level 80 to level 90, so it’s definitely worth fully ascending Albedo if you can.
How should I use Albedo?
Albedo’s utility comes from his skill and his burst which allow him to deal off-field damage. Get him in, pop the skills, and get back out. He requires quite a bit of investment, and as a predominantly defense-scaling character, you should aim to get him to level 90. He also performs best in mono-geo teams, or at the very least with another geo by his side, which limits some potential for elemental reactions.
What are the best weapons for Albedo?
Cinnabar Spindle is a four-star weapon that’s tailor-made for Albedo and used to be his best-in-slot sword. It’s still indisputably his best four-star option. He’s the only sword-user with an elemental skill that scales purely with defense (Genshin Impact’s Chiori splits her scaling between attack and defense) so building around his kit can be tricky without this event-exclusive weapon from way back in Mondstadt.
Thanks to her aforementioned split scaling, Chiori brought a new five-star sword option for Albedo with her into the gacha pool – Uraku Misugiri. While its bonus stat is crit damage rather than the much sought-after defense%, its passive grants Albedo massive a defense increase, especially in geo-heavy teams, making it his new BiS pick.
We’ve also suggested two more weapons that can still pack a strong punch if you missed out on the Dragonspine event or you’re down on your gacha luck. Harbinger of Dawn is a great free-to-play option, whereas Primordial Jade Cutter is there for when you want Albedo to look extra blingy.
