Yelan is a limited five-star character who uses a bow, and the hydro element.

Genshin Impact’s Yelan excels in a sub-DPS role, equipped with the Aqua Simulacra bow and a set of Emblem of Severed Fate artifacts – though she can also be a main DPS as well.
She’s a hydro bow user whose talents help fill in the downtime between main DPS attacks, and her elemental burst directly increases an active character’s personal damage. She’s also excellent at applying hydro so you can pop off tons of reactions in a team using her.
How do I use Yelan?
Yelan is best used for her hydro application, as her play style is similar to Xingqiu, but a little better as she is a five-star unit. If you use these two together, then you’ve got the strongest hydro duo in the game.
Hit Yelan’s elemental skill, and hold it as you run past enemies, marking them with hydro. This then explodes, but keeps the wet status on any targets, meaning you can pop off plenty of reactions with other characters.
What are the best Yelan weapons?
Regardless of whether you want to use her as a DPS or sub-DPS, Yelan’s best weapon is the Aqua Simulacra.It’s a five-star bow that is centered around her kit, and both its crit damage base stat and skill are great assets to her. The Elegy for the End bow is another great, five-star choice for her in both roles, due to its energy recharge stat and the elemental mastery boost in its skill.
If you’re looking for more affordable options, they differ depending on what role you want to build her for. Mouun’s Moon is the best four-star bow for main DPS Yelan, whereas Favonius Warbow is the best four-star bow for sub-DPS Yelan.

What are the best Yelan artifacts?
Regardless of which role you want to put her in, the best Genshin Impact Yelan artifact set is easily Emblem of Severed Fate, due to its energy recharge and elemental burst damage boosts. However, you can mix two pieces of Noblesse Oblige with two pieces of Emblem of Severed Fate for a flat increase to both stats instead.
Yelan does scale on HP, though, so any HP-scaling options are viable if the artifact archons haven’t given you useful drops on her best set – especially if you have a hydro-boosting two-piece as well. We recommend getting Yelan’s energy recharge to about 140% or above but don’t forget to pick HP and crit-boosting pieces, too.
