It’s all gearing up over in Natlan, and we’re wondering when we’ll meet Genshin Impact’s Ororon in the story. Hoyoverse confirmed his name and appearance alongside playable characters like Mualani and Xilonen, but what else do we know about the shadowy, mysterious man?

Genshin Impact Ororon release date estimate
Ororon will release in the 5.2 version update, alongside Genshin Impact’s Chasca. We currently don’t know if he’ll be in the first or second half but we will update as soon as we know more.
Who is Genshin Impact’s Ororon?
If you’re not caught up with the archon quest that came out in version 5.0, look away now – unless you don’t mind spoilers. Ororon first appeared very briefly in the Ignition Teaser, though not as a character catching a ball like the other confirmed playable units. At 2:15 in the trailer, we see him standing next to Genshin Impact’s Capitano.
He features in the 5.1 update story, and we know he’s part of the Masters of the Night Wind clan, the same as Genshin Impact’s Citlali. He has an electro vision, and a rather bat-like appearance, with tattoos, ripped jeans, and wings.
In the archon quest, we learn that Capitano is working with the Masters of the Night Wind, who help him escape after his showdown with the current pyro archon, Genshin Impact’s Mavuika. It’s thought that Ororon is the ‘collaborator’ that aided in the escape, and whose voice appears at the end of the first chapter of the quest.
What is interesting is that the tattoo visible on Ororon’s hand matches the symbols seen on the cubes the Unknown God traps the Traveler with at the beginning of the game, and also the shapes in Irminsul’s branches. What could this mean? Maybe nothing, or perhaps something.
What do we know about Ororon’s kit?
Ororon holds an electro vision, and uses a bow as a weapon. We’re hoping he’ll be a good DPS, or support unit, but for now, we need to wait and see. Ororon’s voice actors are Nathan Nokes in English and Kondo Takashi in Japanese.
