It likely comes as no surprise that Zenless Zone Zero’s Lighter is a member of the Sons of Calydon – he wears a spiked leather jacket and dark sunglasses, and you may have seen him hanging around the neighborhood. But is he born to be wild, or willing to help us out in hollows? Let’s find out.

Zenless Zone Zero Lighter release date estimate
ZZZ Lighter releases in version 1.3, on the second banner. He’s an S-rank character so gets his own signature W-engine, Burning Laurel, which will also be available. Lighter’s banner should go live late in November 6, 2024.
What are Lighter’s skills?
Lighter is an S-rank fire stun character, placing him in the same role as ZZZ’s Koleda and ZZZ’s Lycaon. His combat sees him punching everything in sight, ending his combo with a downward plunging move.
During combat, Lighter collects Morale points, which enhance his attacks, speeding them up so he can deal quicker damage at close range. This quickly builds up daze to stun enemies and also reduces enemies’ resistance to both fire and ice damage
Lighter’s core passive, Accelerant, sees him enter the Morale Burst state, hitting an enemy with the fifth hit of his basic attack combo will consume Morale, and increase his impact. Moral automatically restores over time
When Lighter is in a team with attack specialty or Sons of Calydon members, he allows teammates to deal heavier fire and ice damage when he hits enemies.
What’s the best build for Lighter?
Lighter’s best W-engine is his signature, though other stun-aligned weapons like The Restrained should work on him. We don’t know yet what stats he really appreciates, but impact is a great stat to build on stun units.
As for drive discs, mixing sets of Inferno Metal and Shockstar Disco will work for Lighter, or you can use a two-piece of Hormone Punk or Woodpecker Electro to fill slots with attack and crit stats for safety.
In the special program introducing him officially, we see Lighter in teams with Burnice and Soldier 11, then Lycaon and Ellen. As he reduces fire and ice resistance, he can be a great ally for them – though making use of his passive by using him alongside attack damage agents or any of the Sons of Calydon will also work.
Who is Lighter?
Lighter looks really cool, as expected from a member of the Sons of Calydon gang. Outside of the main story, You can find him hanging around in front of the gadget store on Sixth Street and outside the cinema in Lumina Square. Here, he gets mistaken for a podcast host by a girl passing by. Piper approaches him after the fact and asks what just happened, to which he says he didn’t want to disappoint a fan… even though he’s likely not actually a podcast host.
