Genshin Impact Diluc Build

For you lucky 50/50 winners, you may have Genshin Impact’s Diluc in your roster. He’s a five-star claymore and pyro user hailing from Mondstadt, who runs the Dawn Winery and Angel’s Share Tavern. He looks very similar to the Darknight Hero seen swooping around Mondstadt at night… but surely, that’s just a coincidence. Our Diluc build guide shows you how to get the best out of him.

For more Genshin goodies, check out our Genshin Impact codes page, and Genshin Impact tier list, to check where your team ranks. We’ve also got an up-to-date Genshin Impact banner schedule and Genshin Impact updates guide.

Here’s everything in our Genshin Impact Diluc build guide:

What’s the best Genshin Impact Diluc build?

Diluc is a five-star character featuring on the standard banner, who uses a claymore weapon and the pyro element. You can also get Diluc from the five-star selector.

Best weaponWolf’s Gravestone
Weapon substitutesRedhorn Stonethresher, Serpent Spine
Best artifact setCrimson Witch of Flames
Main statsSands – Attack
Goblet – Pyro damage bonus
Circlet – Crit rate/damage
Sub statsAttack, crit rate, crit damage, energy recharge

Diluc’s best build is as a main DPS, armed with a Wolf’s Gravestone and a set of Crimson Witch of Flames artifacts. Diluc is a powerful lad with an easy, high-impact playstyle. With his combination of blunt and pyro damage, he’s capable of taking out all non-elemental shields with relative ease while still having access to elemental reactions.

Diluc does rely on Genshin Impact’s Bennett and Genshin Impact’s Xianyun in order to truly excel – but if you have Xianyun, his plunge damage becomes formidable. Not only is it the highest in the game, but with vaporize reactions in there too, you’re onto a winner.

When you get used to the cycle of Diluc’s burst, skill, normal attack, skill, normal attack, skill, and pair him up with the right team comp, he can rip through a lot of enemies with ease. Plus, he’s really cool – who doesn’t want to play a mixture of Batman and a grumpy Danger Days-era Gerard Way?

How do I use Diluc?

Diluc has great potential as long as you get yourself familiar with his kit, and swap out after his ult without losing his pyro infusion. If you use him with Xianyun, then make sure to pop her ultimate then Diluc’s, so you get the most uptime. Then, plunge away with your pyro infusion to get some fantastic numbers out of his attacks.

Remember – if you have Diluc equipped with a four-piece set of Crimson Witch of Flames, make sure to use his elemental skill three times in a row to activate the set’s damage bonus.

What are the best Diluc weapons?

Wolf’s Gravestone is the best weapon for Diluc and is considered to essentially be his ‘signature weapon’. It trades some damage for a higher level of versatility and comfort and is consistently strong across all team comps. The Redhorn Stonethresher is another extremely powerful choice for Diluc, offering an amazing boost to his crit. However, it does bind Diluc to Bennett in order to make up for its low-base attack.

The Serpent Spine is easily the best four-star option – at high refinement ranks it can go toe to toe with most five-star claymores. Alternatively, Blackcliff Slasher and Prototype Archaic are both viable options at low refinement ranks.

If you plan on using Diluc in a burn or burgeon team comp, you can use Kinich’s signature weapon – Fang of the Mountain King – to improve the elemental damage of this reaction.

What are the best Diluc artifacts?

Crimson Witch of Flames was literally made for Diluc, so it’s no wonder that it’s his best set. He’s one of the few pyro characters that can actually reliably max its four-piece bonus, and it compliments his kit perfectly. Alternatively, you can use two Crimson Witch of Flames with two Gladiator’s Finale to get a pryo damage and attack increase.

If you happen to be using Diluc with a Serpent Spine and/or Furina in the party, then a set of Marechaussee Hunter can add a significant crit boost when his health fluctuates.

Artifact stat recommendations

As Diluc doesn’t scale off anything in particular, you don’t need to focus on anything – but you kind of need to build up everything. We recommend going for attack and crit stats, and making sure you have a pyro damage bonus goblet.

Main stats:

  • Sands: Attack %
  • Goblet: Pyro damage bonus
  • Circlet: Crit damage or crit rate (try to maintain a 1:2 ratio)

Sub stats:

  • Crit damage
  • Crit rate
  • Attack%
  • Elemental mastery

What are the best Diluc team comps?

While Diluc and Kaeya don’t get on in the story, they can be a formidable pair on the battlefield. Note that in these team comps, Kazuha can easily be swapped for Sucrose, as the more viable option for a lot of players. Xingqiu can replace Furina, or Rosaria in a pinch.

However, since Xianyun’s debut in the game – Diluc has a new best team. Furina, Xianyun, and either Zhongli or Bennett provide the most damage due to their buffs, vape abilities, and Xianyun’s plunge skill. This is the best Diluc team you can get.

If you’re not feeling a vape team, you can use Diluc with Chevreuse and double up on pyro with some electro to make a great overload team, too. No matter the comp and reaction you am for, you do kind of need to use Bennett.
