As his states indicate, Auron can withstand a great deal of damage, making him the perfect tank for your team. Better still, it’s not just his defensive capabilities that lend to him being a powerful ally, as he can also dish out some impressive damage. However, he’s not magically inclined and does suffer from some inaccuracy issues in the early stages of the game.

FFX Auron’s armor
Auron’s armor item is bracers, and as with the rest of the team, these give him various different benefits. Some help you avoid encounters, a few aid with HP and MP, and others are good for extra ability slots.

FFX Auron’s weapons
Auron uses katana while in battle, a sharp sword that takes skill to wield, causing some serious physical damage (unsurprising given Auron’s strength stat). As is the case with other party members, there are numerous katanas out there for you to find, each one offering different benefits; some double or even triple your AP, one always allows him to strike first, and others can even increase your attack by up to 20%

FFX Auron’s abilities
Auron’s abilities show how much of a tank he is, and they mostly revolve around him taking damage for his teammates and raising defenses. He can also impact the stats of his foes, lessening their strength and magic defense.

As for Auron’s overdrive ability, he uses bushido. To perform the move successfully, you must correctly input a button sequence; failing to do so means Auron performs a normal move. If bushido is successful, additional attack power and status effects are added to Auron’s strike.
